There may be a much simpler explanation to the nizoral effect. The active ingredient, ketoconazole, totally and completely inhibits the liver enzyme 3A4. That's one of your workhorse liver enzymes.

A much weaker inhibitor of that enzyme is grapefruit. If you're taking anything that is affected by grapefruit intake, I can guarantee you that you're going to have problems using nizoral.

I really hope you're under the care of a doctor who understands the full effects of this drug.
