Like after I had my last really bad psychotic break, my mother was in engulfing mode. She decided that she herself would diagnosis me and refused to take me to a psychiatrist. (She has absolutely no education whatsoever in psychology or psychiatry.) Not only did she diagnosis me incorrectly (lmao), but she also wanted me to be like her demented house pet. She kept me isolated in her house by myself, doing absolutely nothing, and with no psychiatric care, all Winter long. Because she was going to take care of me, she knew what was best, she wanted to be the one in control. And I was hers. She picked out my clothes. She told me how I felt, what I thought, what I needed. And so sweetly and lovingly, too.

Engulfing parents don't really care about the feelings or well-being of their child. They only care about control and feeling good about themselves. They will tell you that everything is for your own good and that all they do, they do because they love you, while they never really give a damn about you the entire time. If you have an engulfing parent then you have probably been mind****ed just as much people who have been neglected.
Thanks for this!
