I went to see a new pdoc for the first time just X or so days ago, and she also wrote down "mood disorder" and told me that it's because something like bipolar disorder can't be diagnosed after only meeting me one time. We went over my history as well as how different professionals in the past have gone with bipolar disorder, specifically type 1 in one case, but she seems to be the type who wants to start fresh with clients and make up her own mind.

I do find it interesting that when I was a younger to mid- teenager, professionals were rather quick to diagnose me with depression, but when it comes to bipolar as an adult professionals tend to be more like, "Well let's hold on, don't want to jump to any conclusions.."

It's like hory shat it's not a cancer diagnosis, let's just face the music and start working already.
Thanks for this!
