On that note, unfortunately, a lot of people with mental illness think that it's their fault. Maybe this is where people come up with the misconception that those suffering from mental illness enjoy it? I know I sure don't enjoy suffering depression. I'm in a depressed state right now. I can't sit still, I'm eating way too much, sleeping too much, and feel trapped. Who would actually enjoy this or ask for this?

Eugenics is just fake natural selection that actually works against real natural selection, ironically. Species do not evolve without adversity and challenge. And I do believe that humans evolve emotionally as well as in the typical ways. Eugenics endeavors attempt to eliminate adversity by eliminating people, rather than attempting to overcome and adapt. I studied it heavily years ago and tried to have objective and open mind. I think some who favor eugenics mean well but are very misguided, much like how most tragedies throughout human history have started. Unfortunately many who promote such things have very selfish and power-tripping god complexes and don't really mean well. What frustrates me the most is that it makes it difficult to trust treatment. Like knowing how relatively recent it was in history that forced sterilizations of 'undesirables' was widespread in my country, the fact that so many psychiatric medications cause sexual dysfunctions for so many people makes me extremely suspicious and uneasy. Hopefully someday as a species we'll overcome this hurdle as we are in the process of doing for many other groups, as well.
