I think we are GIFTED in many ways. When you grow up feeling like a bit of a freak, the beautiful silver lining is that you lose your fear of considering all viewpoints - for the sake of considering them alone - and thinking outside of the social normalcy box.
Sometimes I feel like the 'deal' handed to us is basically, "You will be able to perceive and grow beyond what is normal, but it will be a very difficult and sometimes painful journey."
So it's not that I "like" depression. I am just strong enough to accept the cards I was dealt, and try to use them to grow as a person. Like so many others. If people have a problem with that, it's probably because they have yet to grow as a person, themselves.
