Do you need to use the NHS? I don't know how it works exactly. Can you go off on your own and hire a therapist/analyst?

I went outside my insurance to find mine and I pay her myself. She reduced her fee for me too, when I asked to see her every week instead of every other week. I found her by contacting a psychoanalytic training institute.
