The zookeeper has power over the animal (mostly)
We have the power always
Animals Aren't thinking of what's next
We are

You make it kind of sound kinda like an endless/pointless fistfight with the waves of the ocean
I understand what you're saying though
It's assumed power fueled by arrogance too though at times, right? Doesn't it ever lead to biting off more than you can chew eventually?
I mean, the same goes for you too...at one point or another, you run into someone who manipulates you.
Think of yourself going through the motions and through all the building and crumbling and building and crumbling of their opinions....you're close to them or you're at a point that you are somewhat satisfied with your position. Now you find out a new detail that puts you in the seat as the manipulated. You are the one who has been fooled and handled all without even noticing.
It happens, it has to. There's always going to be something above us in the food chain. It's nature and it's just a matter of time until we meet it.
Perspective provides more power than reality does, I think.
