Friday, I had a call from an employer whom I have applied to a 2nd time and got some unprofessional attitude from the woman! The company is a 24/7 operation, the pay is great and full time, but I certainly don't wanna be working all hours in a 24/7 environment as I have a set preference for what I want.
The call lasted less than 5 minutes and said that's it never again am I gonna apply to this company! I have applied to one company I found who really spark my interest. I have been thinking about this again recently looking at help desk jobs, their long list of skills they want you to have, I don't have only very very few of them that it looks like I may have to go switch careers. This is something I have been thinking about and been trying not to think about too.
I have no intentions of staying part time forever at my job and no more applying to colleges they take way too long for them to make a decision and to contact you as well. I have applied 13 times within the college district at other sister colleges. The city jobs (besides the state jobs) aren't even any better and have a much longer wait than the colleges.
My resume consists of nothing but customer service with a little bit of IT but not enough for any IT employers to take me seriously. Now, I am not sure how I am gonna explain about a career change to employers. I still want decent pay going up in pay not down! I'm not sure of what other customer service jobs I can do I know of a few places I have zero interest in working with kids, seniors/caretakers, anything similar to that have no interest in being a caretaker.
I don't know, just need a job with company training nothing that requires schooling. I barely see any kind of training with any company these days my focus is just leaving my current job for full time pay so I can start implementing my own personal plans. God, this is still taking way too long. I went to a job fair last Tuesday, a waste of time meet and greet collected resumes!
I haven't taken any career tests in a few years and when I did most of the occupations I didn't even like nor had any interest in them.
