I don't know where you live in the midwest (of course), but perhaps a little inspiration? Many, many years ago, my ex and I set out across the country with a generalized move in mind (Like it? Stay! Lol.). We had everything we owned in a Toyota Corolla, and were camp travelling it (no money) (Ah, BP, so many crazy big unprepared moves...) It was my first time seeing the midwest, and we were on the plains. It was so amazing to see the stars go right to the horizon in every direction!! Beautiful!!!! (I'd never seen such a thing, having always lived -- and travelled-- in hilled and treed countryside.), I can still see it in my mind, and this was thirty (yikes!) years ago!

Also travelling through the midwest, I remember being so surprised travelling through... I believe it was Iowa... to see giant treeless hills. Couldn't help but imagine giants walking over them(!)
