I think the above post makes a good point... I think your guy sounds nice, and I'm sure he'll be back, and it's good he's not rushing things too much. It sounds like he's only prepared to go as far as you're comfortable with, and genuinely wants to make it as good as possible for both of you, but just make sure you're really sure about what you want to do.
