I always feel like I betray myself when I make comments like these.

Most people, from what I can tell, assume that they are in the right, or at the very least that their perspective is worthy of respect.

Can anyone else relate?

What is it about the feedback that is tossing you into the defensive stance? Fear of criticism could be family of origin and worthy of therapeutic work through. Are they judgy or is it lingering from your life?
