Yeah I think it isn't a simple thing or an either or thing. I think that the stigma surrounding mental illness is just soooo pervasive and strong. I think people really aren't comfortable with the idea that people can be "unstable" mentally. I honestly think that I would be if I was not Bipolar and immersed in this world. Just being honest. But I hope that there can be some sort of forward movement in the understanding department. I think a lot of it is education and changing people's perceptions of the "mentally ill". Blah. First step get rid of that word. Ick.
I guess that what just a lot of talking about how I think possibly we could maybe hope for a little more understanding of some kind but real change is a very tall order which is why I say that most important right now is that WE feel more empowered. that we start seeing ourselves in a different light. That we become a stronger more united voice. We are all hidden and beaten down and suffering. We need light out lights shine a little more.
