I have that happen all the time. Usually when I change from my Nook app on my phone, which is easy, to my actual Nook which is not as responsive. Before I updated my Nook I had to push a button to turn pages and I'd think it was touchscreen :-) I still sometimes do that now on my computer, think it is touchscreen when it is all keyboard.
I think it depends on how relaxed our mind is. I know I was watching TV most of the afternoon and evening yesterday (until fireworks) and I woke up this morning from dreams related to what I had been watching on TV. Our mind gets into a rut of seeing/thinking the same thing and then doesn't shift so fast
