a communication book is just a notebook where you put cut outs of pictures or words that will tell your treatment provider what is gooing on in the event that you are unable to speak for yourself....its all individualized...

example one person may put a picture of a cube and to them it means play time where as another person may put a picture of a cube and it may mean they want ice in their drink where as another person may put the picture of a cube and to them it means they want to work on homework... these are just general examples so as not to trigger anyone.

my point is only you can decide what pictures and words to pput in your communication book. a tip usually this is a project that people work on with their treatment providers, otherwise how are their treatment providers gonig to understand the words, pictures, symbols..

example i can throw in the mix anything I want to say what I am thinking and feeling but my treatment provider is not going to know that the cube means I need something from her, to her it will just be a picture of a cube unless she already knows what and why that picture is there.

my suggestion contact your treatment provider, theywill be able to help you to understand what words and pictures you need to help yourself communicate better with them in the event that you are unable to communicate appropriately with them in normal ways.
