I agree with the posters above. Sounds like a reasonable medication start. I don't know how it is in India but in the US amphetamine salts (Adderall) are heavily regulated and GP's are especially reluctant to give them out as an Rx because they are so easily abused.

So seems like he is trying to take care of the other problems and then perhaps get back to the ADD once those are placated.
