Hi Eva1der,

I take Focalin XR for ADD. I have been not feeling as good very recently and I have sort of been wondering if it's the focalin or Lamictal which is the last medication I added a couple of months ago. I had been feeling quite good with no depression or hypomania for awhile once I got up to a therapeutic dose of lamictal.

Very recently I was having a sort of cottony feeling in my head which I thought might be a sinus infection or something due to either the focalin or the Lamictal. Now that feeling seems to have gone away, although I plan to bring it up at the next psych appt to see if they have any input.

The thing I wonder with all the drugs-- and I take about 5 prescriptions --is if I can ever expect med combinations to continue to work effectively for me. It seems like every drug combination I have ever been on, eventually quits working for me.

I guess if I were you, I would let the pdoc know about the changes you have experienced. I think increased depersonalization and more hallucinations are of major concern. I wouldn't assume these issues aren't undesirable side effects of the Focalin. Some people get more depressed on antidepressants. If Focalin is supposed to work on depersonalization symptoms, maybe you are one of the unlucky few for which Focalin WORSENS depersonalization.

Take care,

Meta
