Thanks everyone. Quick clarification - it's not a job, it's a volunteer position.

My shift went super well, even though we got one inappropriate sex caller who we had to hang up on.

Had one call that went super well.

My trainer was very complimentary and said I had great rapport with all the callers. So that felt good.

As for triggers - the screening process is very thorough, it's actually really hard to get accepted as a volunteer at this distress line. I had to wait two years to even be considered because they won't take you if you've been a psych hospital in the preceeding 2 years, and then I had to answer a lot of questions about my stability and support networks. They also talk a lot about self care in the training sessions.

I'll get official feedback on Mon. as to how it went, and then I'll be scheduled for my second supervised shift.
