Let me begin by apologizing for length of post. I dream very detailed and in color. I am a sleepwalker. Most of my dreams are nightmares, not this one, really. Also, I have never had an alcohol or drug addiction.
Dream begins with me running an errand for my boss (I’m unemployed) to file for recovering a debt of $10,000. (A boss and 10k loss has shown up in previous dreams but different locations and circumstances). I’m driving to the courthouse to file. As I cross a bridge (which also has a rail road track), a child jumps up onto the bridge from the side and runs ahead as I slam on my brakes. I get out and talk to her, she is around 10. She is proud of herself and wants to do it again. I lecture her and physically block her from the bridge with the pickup truck I am driving.
I skip forward and I am driving the truck in my home town (which doesn’t look like my real home town), then I am at the courthouse. I have a check for 10k and want to deposit it. (In a courthouse?!?) I can’t tear the perforation and I’m afraid I will damage the check, so the clerk helps me.
I am then driving the truck through town which has cobblestone streets and a town circle. There are some rocks on top along the way that look like horse manure for decoration, as in depicting the past when there were only horses, no cars yet. I am surprised by the road and wonder when the town paved it with cobblestone. I reach the end of the road to turn around but brakes won't work. I'm terrified and dodging everything. Then they work. I park and someone hits the left front, damaging the head light and surrounding area. They get out and apologize and ask me to wait. So I wait on an open deck to a building. I overhear ppl talking about how they are waiting for a meeting for alcohol and drugs. They speak of their new found sobriety since they got out of jail and began meetings.
The young man returns with about 7 checks, all signed, and the amounts left blank for repairing the truck. We go into a building where he runs the checks though a machine and gives me the receipts that verify the checks are good for 3 days. Back outside the wind blows them from my hand and scatters the checks. I and the young man pick them up as we chase them down.
Then the phone wakes me up.
Thanks for any help!
