Sometimes you have to persist, push yourself even if you don't feel like it. I am sure you have hobbies and interests of your own (That you may have forgotten). I love playing guitar, but sometimes I find it hard to get off the bed, plug it in and jam because when I'm depressed I feel so 'heavy' mentally. It feels like too much work. In truth, it's not too much work, and it only takes a few mins to set my guitar up.

Do you study what you want to study, or were you forced to join a course that you don't like? Have you lost your enthusiasm for what you once thought was right for you?

I did a little soul-searching and I found a few things I like and also rediscovered my love for things I liked in the past, but I'm still a lot like you in that I feel like I'm only here to appease my family and friends.

I can relate to a lot of what you said, and I think I can understand you a little bit. Understanding how depression works, and how it can make things seem worse than they are has helped me a little bit. I think little victories mean a lot.
