I am lucky to have a great relationship with my pdoc, we have been together many years and she lets me help decided what changes to make. Right now she is debating upping my lamictal to 500 mg from 400. Instead of just making me do it, she will wait till I am comfortable with it or not.
For those not lucky enough to be able to do that, just remember, they work for YOU. Making med changes, being available, dealing with 'difficult' patients is their job, it is how they make a living. Do not feel like you are a pain in the butt, you are the reason they have a nice house in the suburbs. I would not tell them that but I would sure keep it in mind when dealing with them instead of beating myself up.
You are not a problem, you are the reason for their existence.
