Wants2, it happens on it's own, to have a best friend. You don't mentally or emotionally call one of your friends your "best friend." It just happens over a peroid of time.

I've never been one to have a group of friends, just one or two. The rest are acquaintances. I have a friend now that at one time I called my best friend because she was there for me in some really hard times. Now that I don't "need" her, we've grown apart. It's kinda sad, but it happens in all relationships. There's a woman in my life that depends on me for a lot of things, she hugs me and kisses me when she leaves my home, but I don't feel that close to her. My independence is such that someone depending on me as much as she does annoys me. Yet, I do have warm feelings for her.

If I was to think of a best friend, someone that laughs and cries with me and I could tell her my innermost secrets, if I had any, it would be a woman I've known for about 30 yrs but rarely see or speak with. There is an undeniable bond between us that is stronger than time or things that happen in our lives.

Then there are the friends I have here. They're a totally different breed/kind of friends. If I was to put my love for my 3D friends on one scale and my love for my friends here on PC, the scale would come out even, yet I haven't met anyone here from PC.
