here in my location this is what happens when ...Anyone... treatment provider or non treatment provider, mentally ill person or non mentally ill person does in this kind of situation. we even have tv commercials telling people if you witness or are a victim of a hate crime to contact the police/911.

here the police would rather come out on a hate crime call and discover it was someone who needed other help (ie medical or mental, help in settling minor dispute or that it was nothing ) rather than getting the after something fatal happened such as all the various hate crime results around the country and people asking afterwords why didnt the cops do anything.

since 9\11 new york is a pro active state on stopping/prevention of crimes ....before .... a fatality happens.

even in schools and mental health programs the mentally ill are taught to use their reality testing skills. if someone is harming you or tellng you to do harmful/questionable things to find someone you trust and or the police and report that person. it doesnt matter if its a stranger, friend, family member or treatment provider. At the very least making a report will get an investigation going and the mentally ill person will get the help they need for stabilizing should it turn out to be their mental illness telling them people are trying to harm them.

other locations may take a less pro active roll in helping the mentally and physically challenged , but here in NY we take mental illness and threats of harm very seriously. we have learned its better to check the situaiton out and verify whether its a persons mental illness or whether the threat is real.

besides that here on psych central we have no way of knowing whether this situation with the poster is their lack of following medication treatments or whether its for real. the poster has a problem and I supplied suggestions of solution options for both real and lack of medication. we would love to believe this was a lack of medication problem but the reality is that it could be either or. not all treatment providers are harmless. do a google search on mental health treatment providers arrested for crimes and you will find literally thousands that have harmed their clients in various ways....

line in the sand we are online we dont know with 100% certainty that this is a medication problem or a dangerous situation. leaving out the option of calling 911 could be leaving the poster who says their treatment providers are doing them harm in harm. yea some of the situaitions poster are extreme and in our own minds could not possibly be really happening but we are not allowed to diagnose the problem. we make suggestions and then leave it up to the poster on what to do to help their self.

my suggestions was call for help and take the meds. I stand by those suggestions. now its up to the poster whether or not they want to use those suggestions.
Thanks for this!
