This doctor sounds great. I would just tell your current pdoc that you talked to the dr at IOP and feel like you aren't ready to start
Clozaril quite yet and that the IOP dr made some recommendations that you want to try to see what happens. If he doesn't like it then he is possibly on some ego trip because any dr that hears "I really respect this 2nd opinion" should respect that you want to try that recommendation and can always go back if you don't do well. And before trying Clozaril every recommendation is worth trying before you go there, it's just such a big deal drug with so many big side effects.
