I think it may very well apply. I mean both conditions come down to empathy. Autists cannot read it and respond to it properly and narcissists/psychopaths cannot feel it or read it. Without empathy, you will not know how the other party is feeling, so if you are manipulating them, you might not know it because you cannot detect the effect it's having on the other person. You'll only know once you see the end result of what you have manipulated possibly.
