Normally switching is like instantaneous, no biggy, but when a strong adverse personality takes over, it's like the toes and fingers start flexing through the arms and legs all the way up the spine into the head and then....done. Like a body suit is being put on.
Or when just sitting there body movements happen on their own. Toes flex and legs bounce fingers tap or flex...I'm just an observer. The body looks and feels detached.
I've fought take overs, and it's a battle for the body which looks like mild convulsions.
Even in a meeting before, I had to grab my right arm and pull it in because it was so like wrong and not our image on a business call! Lololol
Aren't we such awesome people? Nobody gets it.

no the only time I had this problem it was due to medication problems and psychotic symptoms. at least thats what my treatment providers called it. on the rare occasions when I could feel an alter take control it was more like dissociation (I felt numb, spacy, disconnected but could hear what was being said, kind of like being a watcher not a participant.) rather than like my psychosis symptoms. I never fought an alter while they were in control of the body. I was too busy being numb, spaced out, disconnected )
one thing to keep in mind with the term possession.....with the diagnostics it doesnt mean like a ghost or spirit moving into the body or out of the body. its a cultural description to describe the instantaneous notice able to others changes....example in my native american culture when someone suddenly goes from sad to happy it is said they are possessed by the eagle in flight, we dont mean the person is literally possessed by a flying eagle. the person has just taken on the appearance of being happy, carefree,.
