Mindfulness/meditation has made a big difference to my life.

As part of my mental health self-care I do a breathing meditation every morning (focusing on the physical sensations of breathing).

Quite often when I am doing that thoughts and feelings appear in my mind. I have learned (for me it took some time) to notice them with no judgement; "Hmm, that is a thought or feeling. Thoughts and feelings just are but they do not define me. I can watch a thought or feeling as it moves out of my awareness and then focus on the physical sensations of breathing again."

This works for me.
