Steve and I had a visit with the kids this past weekend. Lindsay is 11 and Paul is 8. They know the general facts about Steves' colon cancer. I've told them what I felt they could understand.

Anyhoo...We are at the park having a grand family day. Paul and Steve walking hand in hand, when Paul, so matter of factly turns to his Daddy and says "Dad, you know when you die, you don't have to worry about Linny and me, I've already picked out a new Dad".

Of course Steve was initially crushed. But after a few minutes, we realized what a big "man" our little boy is growing into.
