I have panic disorder and am prescribed dexadrine (like adderral). It has no effect on my anxiety. They are completely two different feelings (the med vs. anxiety).
Perhaps an XR or long lasting adderall would give you a slighly slower come down and not leave you with such ill feelings.
I am in total agreement with Amandalouise--what you look up on the internet should be taken with caution. As she said it could be 1 out of 1000 or 100-whatever, they need to include that side effect. You should give it a fair try and see how you do with it.

It is not so strange she Rx'd you the topamax. I have heard of many people with anxiety and or depression on this.

Be careful with your internet searches. Sometimes they lead us more astray rather than in the right direction.
