I used to get that all the time. I just tried ignoring them and that didn't work then I joined in and said it first so they couldn't say it to me. But, in the last 2 mo's I have found a doctor that finally prescribed an amphetamine (the depressants they gave me that I DID NOT need put about 20 #'s on me) anyhow, boom that was the start the beginning of a new life again. So, I am now on Adderall (2 weeks so far) and we'll probably need to go up a notch on the dosage but I feel so much better. Psychotherapy, with a cognitive type therapist, has helped tremendously too. But you must have the "right" one. Anyhow, as a young adult I thrived on "speed" because that was what helped me achieve and focus. Then, as I got older of course there were no connections. Now the Adderall has brought my focus back, well it is better but I have a ways to go. So, with all of this said, just beat them at their own game. Then, you're in charge, not them. You'll soon take the fun out of it for them and will find they will eventually quit.
