Hi Breadfish,

I reckon the best you can do if someone (you care about/cares about you!!) asks you to make that promise is to tell them you can't make that promise, but you'll try your best not to..........because I'd say that was a very unfair promise to expect someone to make/it overlooks how hard that may be to keep and can easily make someone feel like they've failed if they don't manage not to.........so get what I'm saying........no promises if you can help it
But you've promised, so maybe try using that a bit to your advantage for now.........e.g. if you're struggling (if you can!!) remind her that you've made that promise, you're finding it hard to keep and you need..........from her to make it a bit easier to try to keep that promise.
And try to keep to that promise, for as long as you're able, for yourself. Meaning not for her but for yourself.
But if you don't keep that promise, then it was her fault in making you do that, not yours in not being able to keep it. And if you don't you have not failed.

Thanks for this!
