I think you definitely need to revisit this with your T. Tell her how your comment made you feel and say that the wording is just how you think of the anxiety. That it's very real for you. Maybe describe some physical symptoms, too? Like where you feel the tension (for me it's my neck and head; others might feel it in their stomach, say). But definitely talk about it more.

As for the benzo question, I'd try posting that in the Psychiatric Medications forum.
I am going to see her soon, and I will have to talk to her about it. She already knows that I have an anxiety related bowel condition, as well as TMJ. I feel tension in my calves. I will tell her that it made me feel like she belittled a very large problem I am having. I will have to explain to her that it's something real for me and when she made that comment it made me feel like she didn't believe it was. Thank you all! I will have updates when I talk to her.

I am going to post my be zo question in the Psychiatric Medication section, which in admittedly spend a large amount of time in lol.
