Its a difficult question for me to answer. I am taking something that gets me to sleep and I was taking that before I started wellbutrin. I intend to come off that med even if it means I can't sleep much for a while. I think Buproprion will not stop me from sleeping as it is not a particulalry strong med. For you it might be influenced by the version you take. Buproprion comes in different forms. Extended release allows for a single dose per day. There are versions that allow twice a day and three times a day as well I am pretty sure. I take both extended release and twice daily dosing because that is the only way in my country I can get to the maximum dosage - 450mg. I take 300mg single dose plus 75mg in the morning and 75 at night. My best guess based on a lot of experience with depression and depressed people is that you will sleep. It might take a bit of time to settle into that side effect. Its like everything with AD's you won't know if you get that side effect until you try it. By the way inform yourself on all the side effects before you start. Side effects can be persistent and perhaps even permanent. For me the trade off with getting side effects as opposed to being depressed is worth it. Because nothing much is worse than severe depression. Wellbutrin has so far give me a mild case of ringing in the ears. Idk if it will go away or not. Its up to me to use techniques to not let that side effect bother me.
