Also some insurance companies and that are fighting to have knowledge of these tests. So if you find out you have genes that make it more likely than average you'll get cancer or heart disease they will use that info to deny you insurance or charge you premiums.
I think the idea is kind of cool but I wouldn't get any done until they become more accurate and consistent and when I also know for sure insurance companies or banks won't use the info to screw me over.

you werent here when the whole forum did 23andme but we all did it. you have a point in a way but i did it for my mental health and ancestry because im biracial. so far i hadnt had any insurance companies come after me and i havent got denied coverage through what ive had. part of the thing is probably not telling your doctor you did 23andme. its a personal thing really.
