Yes, I know that. When I'm in a situation where my stress level strikes the sky I burst into anger and aggressiveness. To prevent this I need to let out the pressure. There are some techniques that can help you to get back in touch with reality (resp. stress management).
Example: You get a text and it makes you "losing" your mind, then try something that gets you out of your emotionally loaded state. It's about putting down the stress and the tension you might feel. When it's gone you're once again the "lord of your mind" and you maybe can text back more rational.
You also should find out what happened right before you get into that mood. Like a certain text passage your friend wrote or some incident on that day time.
