My first computer was Windows, and I didn't like it from the start. Too many options, too complicated, and it nagged me or do the update without me consenting. So I became pretty good at removing all the crap from Windows, I got it down to like 2-300 mb. Eventually, I moved onto Linux, free stuff y'know. More freedom, philosophy or whatever, just feels right for me. I just like to know ins an outs of things, this suits me fine, so I'm no apple guy although I admit they are pretty!
Technology is fine.
Technology (from Greek τέχνη, techne, "art, skill, cunning of hand")
We benefit a lot from computers, but I have fondness for older tech without too much computerization. Internal combustion engine, or a simple pop-up toasters without a microchip. Try to make them with your hands! and some of us know somebody already tried them and wrote a book about it.
I'm just appreciative of these technology that I see everywhere in everything and I sometimes think about the persons behind it, GENIOUSES and their intelligences. Their eccentricities too. I only know so little...
Technology can be evil too, in simple terms, they make us slaves.
Lastly, I just like to say, owning, commanding 'your tech' won't make u smart, even a little bit. Say a shoe repair guy or swordsmith who knows about thier tools, who uses their hands and brains, in my eyes, they are also ... tech. sry, I don't know how to say what I wanna say here.
Thanks for this thread, technologies are meant to be used, to create, to enrich,,o so many things and I'm glad that you brought this up.
ETA: The internet has been good for me, although I can think of few bumps that I'm not gonna mention here..
The best part about it is that you find awesome ppl. One of my recent favorite guy is called, Mr.Mafioso. I have to follow up on this guy and see if I can learn more from him. Does anyone have random favorite people on the internet?
