Please stop hating yourself. Your inability to focus may have a physical cause. I find it difficult to focus when my depression is bad. Or when I am anxious. Or when I have not had enough sleep. I take a prescription that when I am sitting in the heat, there is no way I can think clearly. Your first step is to engage your physician and your therapist, if you have one, in identifying what is contributing to your difficulty in focus.

Then, you might also be doing this (I used to do this) Freaking out over how very much there is to do (or that you want to do). Keep in mind that the fastest computer does only one thing at a time. So whatever it is you want to do; do the first step. If you have 20 things to do, you are still going to start by doing the first step of just one of them.

I am an overly ambitious person who always has a lot of irons in the fire. I am frequently in freak-out mode because everything always needs to be done yesterday…(I'm exaggerating here a bit). I get overwhelmed..

But I get things done by doing the first step. Then the next. And so on. And I allow myself time to have a meal, or to get sleep--because those things are natural and necessary. You can do this. First step: call your doctor. Courage!
