I have always had a lot of problems with doing homework, cleaning in the house, doing chores etc. My parents even made lists, but I litteraly forgot all about them. I watched out for the house when they were on vacation, and I simply didn't do everything they required me to do. Anyways they became pretty mad, and this is where I'm confused... Is it because I'm lazy, or is it add? And even if it is ADD, then I would hate the pull the "ADD card" and simply say I didn't do it because I have it. But I must say that I'm heartbroken everytime I get in trouble for not doing chores, but I never ment to "fail" my parents. Do you have any tips on how to deal with this? Both for my parents and me? Because my selfworth goes down everytime, and they become annoyed.. Also, can anyone draw a line to when it's fair to "blame it" on ADD, and when it's not? I just wish for the best, for both me AND my parents

Has this new diagnosis helped you learn more about yourself?

I feel that you shouldn't necessarily blame it on the AD/HD, but your parents and people you know your limits. If you can't remember to do all your chores, maybe your parents should focus you to do one out of the list and be happy about it. They should know your limits. Should a person with a broken leg be expected to play soccer? No. Baby steps are needed.

Maybe you should look at treatment options. Medication? Therapy? Natural mineral paths?

Also, maybe bring this up with your parents? What I wrote. Baby steps are a thing for even anxiety disorders. It might help.

Look up organizational help also. I like going to ADDitude: ADHD Symptoms, Medication, Treatment, Diagnosis, Parenting ADD Children and More to help me with anything AD/HD wise.

Hope this helps.
