The whole system is pretty messed up. And, it only gets worse once you get stuck inside it!
I know it's easier said than done, but try not to let your employment status define your self-worth. You're awesome, smart, and tenacious - just because you haven't found the right position *yet*, doesn't make any of that less true.
I wish I had some better advice for finding something. Do you have any family friends that maybe can look for positions you might be qualified for at their places of employment? Sounds weird, but I only ask b/c my boss brought an 18-year old "friend of the family" to one of our team meetings today, because she's interested in the type of work we do. It was a bit weird to me, because I didn't have that type of support from my family, but maybe there's somebody in your life that would be able to help like that?
I don't know, I know it's a long shot... just trying to think.
Have you thought about or tried temping (sorry if you've mentioned this previously)? Is that something you'd be open to? I know a lot of people who have done that to get by while looking for something else, and sometimes when people do a great job, the company offers them a permanent job.
Good luck CosmicRose... hang in there!
