So just say that. I do that all the time. Like a few weeks ago I was having a bad side effect and she couldn't do anything until several more weeks had passed so she wanted to lower the dose of my new med. I told her I was scared to lower it b/c I felt better aside from the side effect (which was painful) and so asked if I agreed to deal with the pain for a month if I could take the dose I was on and just know it might cause pain. She was fine with that, just said she didn't want me to suffer. When another side effect happened that was more serious than the muscle rigidity I'd had before she changed things earlier than the month we'd planned so I could stay on the dose I was doing well on and so far so good after just a few days (but she's on vacation so I'm pretty well stuck for now unless I deal with another dr which would be tricky right now).
