Hahahahahaha, amazing.

There is a lot of humor in my therapy. He has a similar sense of humor to me... quite dry and sarcastic. Sometimes we joke about the patterns that emerge in session. For example, my anger. Yes it's a serious thing, but c'mon.... it's hysterical at times as well. I am a huge proponent of the use of humor, not only in therapy, but in tough situations in general. Anyway, here is an example of what I was talking about. This occurred a couple of weeks ago:

We had a Saturday session, and I was telling him how I was really excited to make a pie later in the day. I told him how I didn't want to get all upset during the session because it might ruin my whole day, and therefore, I wouldn't get to make my pie. During the course of the session, I ended up expressing some anger at him, and then it let up a bit at the end.

Him: Good luck with the pie.
Me: Thanks. I hope it comes out really well.
Him: Well, you'll know who to blame if it doesn't.
Me: Exactly!
