I have a Facebook friend who is now a college freshman. I've known the person for three years, bit I haven't seen her in a long time until recently. I managed to interact with her, but after two messages on Messenger, she has gone completely silent. Or it's more like she set the notifications off as far as my messages are concerned. I sent an additional three or four messages; they were delivered but not yet read. I can understand why she hasn't read the messages though, as she doesn't want my messages to be mixed in with that of her classmates and college friends. If our relations had already been strained, she could have just unfriended or blocked me, but she didn't. All she did was turn the notifications off. More or less, she intends to keep it that way until the semester's over. I don't want to be too judgmental on her, and I'm hoping that she turn back the notifications on once the semester's over. From the back of my mind, I get the feeling that she “dumped” me, but I prefer to be positive with it and hope that she will turn back the notifications on once sembreak starts.

What's your take on this?
