I've only been IP when I've been a danger to myself, and the three times I have been I was forced to go.

It obviously messes up everyones schedule - work, family, etc. This last time (january) I was IP four days, or five?, and missed two weeks of work total because even when I got out, though no longer crazed, I wasn't ready to face the world. I had to take vacation days to make up for it. When I did go back my work was so happy. Made me feel good. Apparently they need me. They really made me feel appreciated!

Anyway, I guess my point is that if you need IP, you need IP, and your life will work itself out while you're gone and when you get out everything goes back to normal. At least it did for me.

Hope you feel better soon!
