Inpatient shouldn't affect your whole life. I've been 5 times, getting ready to go for my 6th. A typical day revolves around group therapy, meals and taking meds. You will meet people there who you will be able to relate to. I even have a couple of people I keep in touch with. The good thing about your situation is you can prepare yourself and pack what you need. When you get hauled in by the cops you don't have that luxury!
