The purpose of the thread was to get members to look a bit closer at the quality of the information coming from the media. The links I provided were articles/reviews provided by experts in this field of information which is basically just popular media. The book is not a piece of academic work; it is a book designed to sell. Your link to a media article proves that exact point. It was not about finding support for a particular position. If you want to form an informed view my friend you would go to the primary research itself and then be guided by that and your own experience. Don't take somebody's word for it - especially not a journalist. And so according to the point I was making you would NOT take the word of The Guardian.
The research speaks for itself. So that leaves my experience. I have been around the block way too many times to be fooled by placebo. I find it quite ridiculous that I could trick myself with a sugar pill whilst in the grips of a suicidal depression. My position is that members here should find out for themselves by a)looking at the evidence and b)trying to find what works for you
