BP and BPD...stepping back is hard...mine is mainly with impulsive behavior and not really so much anger...though I'm more the passive-aggressive type...
For impulsive behaviour it is spending...so I leave most credit cards at home.
Besides the pause button...it might be a good idea to list out recent events that you felt you regretted the outcome...write down what you would have liked the outcome to be and what you could have done to get that...this might be a start in helping you think...during the pause...that didn't work well last time...try to remember what you wanted to do...
