Usually she would make an appointment a week later exactly..or even later because I had just been. However, she was very quick to reschedule and only 5 days apart? I don't really know what to think about this. I just know that thinking you yourself need medication, and then a professional someone telling you that you do..is two different things. I've never heard of the "five times before resorting to meds" rule. Lots of Ts will suggest seeing a pdoc and getting on meds the first time if they think you need it.

If you don't think you need meds, I think you should tell her so and stick to your guns if need be. At the same time, I don't see any reason to be offended. Lots of people with depression need meds. It doesn't mean they are deficient in any way. She is probably suggesting something she thinks might be helpful. If you don't agree, you have every right to say no.
