I have to start taking Clomipramine soon, and i'm very anxious about doing so.
i'll be starting on 10mg in the next few days.. on going up from there..

I was wandering how it makes you feel in comparison to SSRIs..
It's a tricylic, so i expect it to be quite different.
I'm particularily worried as i've had bad experiences with anti-depressants in general...
I really don't want to take any more, but to qualify for residential treatment i have to take either
a) an SSRI at maximum dosage augmented with an anti-pychotic
b) clomipramine at the maximum tolerated dose (150mg) {i believe it may go even higher according to ocd-uk}

I've had really bad experiences with SSRIs, going onto them and coming off them has always been particularily difficult; but i've also felt numb and empty whilst 'stabalised' on them with very little benefit towards my anxiety.
I also tried Mirtazapine, which actually worked well on my depression for a couple of months before it stopped working,, although it gave me terrible nightmares.

I'm going in and out of depression at the moment, my OCD is rampant..

What should i expect from clomimpramine?
Will it feel 'heavier',,,,, more 'dirty'.... sedating or confusing?
I know everyone has different subjective effects... but i really don't have a clue what's going to happen when i take it..
For instance: when i started taking Sertraline: for the first couple weeks i'd not sleep for 72hours in a row...
Mirtazapine i'd only be awake for 4 hours a day.

I'm very apprehensive as to just what is going to happen this time.
