Things have been going slower than I thought they would in getting my home ready to move into. I postponed going back to California until August 2 & then I have to because of Dr appointments & needed prescriptions......but until then, I am continuing to continually be amazed by my Kentucky home.

Tonight, I let my doggie (Leo) out for his nightly potty walk. This usually involves just letting him out the front door & having to stand there, watching him while he won't go farther than where the front porch lights go. He is usually afraid to go into the shadows. Tonight, I let him out a bit early so there was a bit of evening light left for him. He decided to wander off across the driveway to the other side of the house. I was watching him & all of a sudden, he started poking his nose at something in the grass. Then he started doing the hunting thing where they jump at something & then jump back & I heard a squeeling sound. I ran over to see what he was so interested in & to make sure that whatever it was, wasn't dangerous. At first, I thought it might be a frog, since I am close to a stream & hear the frogs all around the house. As I got closer, it looked like maybe a mouse, but it wasn't running fast enough for that. As I got closer, I noticed that it was a mole. They are the cutest little things I have ever seen. The poor thing was trying hard to get away from Leo & I was trying my hardest to get him away from the mole before he killed it. The mole was scurring between the other property & mine, so I had a hard time getting Leo away from it.

I read a bit about moles on the internet & they are actually good critters to have since they eat the bad bugs in the yard. I realize now that all the little burrows I have been noticing are from the moles. I guess according to what I read, they don't come to the surfice often & usually only by mistake. We had a hard rain today, maybe one of his tunnels got rained out.

It seems like with every new day, comes a new interesting, exciting experiences. I am enjoying this life so much, I can't imagine even going back to California for even a month.

I have been getting prices on moving companies & oh my!!!!! I am wondering it it isn't just better to sell most of my furniture & but all new here.....It doesn't seem like it would cost me much more than moving it all here.

I was chatting with a friend here, looking back at some of the things we have gone through in our lives. The main thing I realized was that about 12 years ago when I was trying my darndest to end my life, I never would have ever imagined then that I could have ever ended up in a beautiful place like the farm I now own here in Kentucky, in a place that in my mind has to be more beautiful than I could ever imagine heaven to be. If I had been successful in my attempts at that time, I never would have had the chance to experience the beauty & peacefulness I have now. I would have cheated myself out of a wonderful life. The things we don't see at the time, don't mean that the best part of life isn't ahead of us if we will just wait for it.

I have been listening to the radio since May 15, since I don't have a TV & there is one song that gets to me everytime. I don't know who it is by or the exact title, but it is about God's unanswered prayers......& that the best things that happen to us sometimes come through our unanswered prayers.......that really hits home for me.
