Pooh - I have heard some good things about Cymbalta™ (duloxetine), a dual action SNRI. I have no actual experience with the drug, though.

A couple other alternatives could be the mood stabilizers such as gabapentin (Neurontin™), lamotrigine (Lamictal™), or even divalproex (Epival™/Depakote™) or lithium. These don't have as direct an effect on the neurotransmitters, but work in slightly different ways.
