Most evidence suggests that sexual orientation is set pretty early on... trauma in adulthood could open us up to aspects of our orientation that we were not aware of, but orientation itself is probably set in childhood.

But there is more and more evidence that we all lie somewhere on a continuum as far as gender and sexuality is concerned... so it isnt so much of being one thing or the other.
